International Intership of Lucy

After 6 Month of exciting science and discoveries we have to say good bye to Lucy Munuhe from Kenia. Lucy was supported by the COMP@SS program of the Max Planck Institute for solid state research in Stuttgart. During her time at MPI FKF Lucy worked with Timon on a series of responsive MOFs and their behavior in different environments.

This is the second time our group is hosting a student from Africa as part of the COMP@SS program. In the fall of 2024 Mercy from Simbabwe finishing her internship working closely with Esengül on responsive Fe-based MOFs. These international exchange programs are not only a great chance for researchers from the global south to experience research in a leading institution in Germany but also for us to learn new insights in culture and science abroad.

We wish Lucy save travels back home and look forward to her future career as a leading chemist! And maybe our paths will cross again in the future!
